We Believe
About the BIBLE:
The words of Scripture are inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. At the same time, God has promised to preserve His Word to every generation (Mt. 24:35). We believe that God has preserved His Word in the Masoretic Hebrew text and the Textus Receptus Greek text. We believe that the Authorized, King James Version is the best translation of the preserved Word of God in the English language. We believe that the KJV accurately shows the inspired and infallible words of the preserved Hebrew and Greek. We do not believe in double inspiration, nor do we believe that the English should correct the Greek. (2 Tim. 3:16, Ps. 12:6-7). We believe that the Word of God is the final authority for faith and practice (Heb. 4:12).
About God:
We believe in one God, equal and eternally existing in three persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Mt. 28:19-20, 1 Jn 5:7).
About Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, and born of Mary, a virgin. We believe that Christ is fully God and fully man. We believe that He lived a sinless life. We believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. We believe that He ascended to the Father, and is sitting on the right hand of the throne of God acting as our High Priest and Advocate (Isa 7:14, Mt. 1:18-23, 2Cor. 5:21, Acts 7:55-56).
About the Holy Spirit:
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, the promise of Christ to His disciples. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person and not an impersonal force. He ministers to the saints, as well as gives gifts to the church for the edification of the church (Jn. 16:7-11, 1 Cor.12).
About Man:
We believe that man was created in the image of God. His sin brought upon mankind's physical and eternal death. Man's spiritual death caused eternal separation from God. All human beings are born with a sin nature, and are sinners in thought, word, and deed (Gen. 1:26, Rms. 5:12, Jn. 3:1-5).
About Salvation:
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for man's sin according to the scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. All that repent and believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. We believe in the eternal security of the believer, that it is impossible for one who is born again of God to ever be lost. We believe that all who receive by repentance and faith the Lord Jesus are born again of the Holy Spirit and become the children of God (Jn. 3:5-21, Rms 5:8, Lk. 13:3, Acts 16:31).
About the End Times:
We believe in the Second Coming of Christ. We believe His return is personal, premillennial, and imminent. At this time, He will gather together unto Him the church to meet Him in the sky, while the lost will face the seven-year tribulation period. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just at the rapture and the unjust at the end of the millennial kingdom. The saved will experience everlasting blessedness, while the unjust will experience everlasting punishment (2 Thes. 4:13-18, 1 Cor 15:51-57, Revelations). We believe in the literal fulfillment of the prophecies and promises of the scriptures, which foretell and assure the future regeneration and restoration of Israel as a nation (Rev. 7:4-8, Ez. 34:11-31, Isa. 60-62, Zech. 8,10,14:9-15).
About the Church:
We believe in the scriptural ordinances of the Church: Baptism and the Lord's supper. They are to be administered by a local church. Baptism, by immersion, should be administered to believers only as a symbol of their faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. The Lord's Supper should be partaken of by local church members only to show His death, "til he come."
About Creation:
We believe that the world was created as the scriptures speak of in Genesis chapters one and two. We believe that God created the world in six literal days, and on the seventh, He rested. We reject any other theories that would deny the truth of His word.
About Eternity:
We believe in a literal Heaven and Hell. We believe that those who die in their sins will spend eternity with the devil and his angels in a place the Bible calls Hell (Mt. 25:41). We believe that those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will spend eternity in Heaven (Rev. 21:9-27). We believe that in both cases eternity has no end.
About Government:
We believe in the original intent of separation of Church and State, that there should be a "hedge or wall of separation between the Garden of the Church and the Wilderness of the world." The Church has no power over the government; neither does the government have any say in church matters. We do believe that it is important for Christians to be involved in government, and government officials to be active members in a local new testament church (Col. 1:18, Rms. 13).
